This is Amigo the soft-coated wheaten terrier, at twelve (almost thirteen) years old. Wheatens are eternal puppies, and never really grow up. This picture was taken after he had surgery to remove his left front leg because of cancer complications. But you wouldn’t know it watching him scamper around the yard! We learned that the endearing term for dogs like Amigo is “tripawd,” and that there are a huge amount of resources for caring for your tripawd. He passed away last July, but we’ll never forget him.
